Inspector Alain Charron
Alain Charron, P.Eng., R.H.I.
A trusted and deeply experienced inspector with 26 years of building science expertise.
When you’re making one of the largest investments of your life—or guiding a client through a critical real estate decision—you want an inspector who combines technical depth with a calm, methodical approach. That is exactly what Alain Charron delivers.
A Professional Engineer, Alain brings over two and a half decades of experience spanning engineering, building science, and property inspection. Known for his clear communication and client-focused mindset, he is trusted by homeowners, investors, and realtors alike for his ability to translate complex building conditions into practical, decision-ready insight.
Alain has completed more than 10,000 inspections, infrared investigations, engineering assessments, and energy audits throughout Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec, covering residential, multi-unit, and commercial properties. His work includes advanced infrared diagnostics for flat roofing systems, moisture intrusion, insulation deficiencies, and other performance-related building concerns.
Alain began his career with the Canadian Military, where he participated in an environmental investigation at an international military base prior to land repatriation. He later continued his service as a civilian researcher at the Royal Military College of Canada’s structural engineering laboratory, where his work was published in peer-reviewed engineering journals, including the Canadian Journal of Civil Engineering. Findings from his research contributed directly to revisions in the Canadian Wood Design Manual, influencing modern wood construction standards.
His inspection practice is supported by advanced technical training in building pathology, thermography, structural behaviour, roofing systems, code compliance, and energy performance.
Alain also regularly supports condominium corporations, property managers, and investors with budget-driven capital planning, helping prioritize repairs and replacements based on risk, performance, and financial constraints.
Alain holds specialized certifications and training from Royal Military College of Canada, École Polytechnique, École de Technologie Supérieure, the Infrared Training Center, Algonquin College, and W.E.T.T. for wood-burning appliance inspections. He is a Registered Home Inspector (R.H.I.), a National Certificate Holder with the Canadian Association of Home & Property Inspectors (CAHPI), a member of Professional Engineers Ontario, and a W.E.T.T. Site Basic Inspector.
